This is NOT a construction drawing 2. Images shown are for layout purposes only and may differ from actual product supplied. 3. All installation measurments should be taken from the supplied installation instructions 4. Any discrepancy found between information shown and measurments taken from site should be reported to eibe immediatley 5. Full area measurments are to be checked before installation can proceed 6. Check foundation level requirements for each item GENERAL NOTES If not indicated on this plan, north point must be confirmed prior to installation to ensure that slides do not face due south. Exact positions & orientation of new items may be subject to a final site survey and setting out plan. Any inconsistencies on site should be verified with eibe before commencement of work. eibe recommend that existing trees are risk-assessed by the client to ensure the integrity of accessible branches, that overhanging limbs do not conflict with new play equipment or vehicle access and that the canopy will not produce excessive leaf drop which could cause a hazard within the play area. This design layout conforms to the relevant EN Safety Standard. GRASS & GRASS MAT SURFACING Where equipment is installed directly into grass and the free height of fall is between 0.6m and 1.5m it is the responsibility of the playground operator to ensure that the grass sward is maintained in good order. Where equipment is installed with grass mat surfacing it is the responsibility of the playground operator to ensure that the grass is maintained in good order. When laid directly onto existing grass this surface will follow the natural contours of the ground. RUBBER MULCH SURFACING eibe recommend the use of a 50mm stone base when installing rubber mulch. If installed without the finished surface will be a reflection of the ground beneath it, following any undulations, & will not be a completely flat surface. Rubber mulch will not cure any existing drainage problems & will require foundations and/or some kind of drainage system prior to installation.

Jubilee Park is situated in the heart of Waterlooville, Hants, and is a well-used and loved playing field. The playing fields are often used for community events and are also home to a MUGA, Skate Park and numerous sports clubs such as Bowls and Cricket. Havant Borough Council has previously preferred to use metal play equipment for their play spaces due to past experiences using timber. However, in 2021 eibe Play arranged site visits of three play spaces around Fareham with the Park Officers for Havant Borough Council. Fareham Borough Council installed these play spaces over two years, which previously had the same opinion. All three of these destinations play spaces have been
a great success and changed Fareham Borough Councils’ mindset on the quality and durability of timber play equipment. After visiting these play areas with eibe Play and speaking to the council members from Fareham Borough Council, the council saw the quality. It felt the durability was suitable for both parties to feel confident enough for eibe Play to tender for any of their play area refurbishment schemes. A few months passed, and then eibe Play received the tender paperwork for the exciting redevelopment of the Jubilee Park Play Area. We were highly excited to tender for this scheme, and after a site visit, to better understand the requirements and the playing space as a whole, eibe Play started the design stage of the tender submission. We felt this play area, especially the local community, deserved a WOW factor play area to fit in with the destination feel for the rest of the park. This was at the forefront of our minds with the initial design work. We also thought that the play area needed to represent elements of the nature found around the park, which would help with the theme of the play area and educate the local children. However, this can be seen
all around the play area, with the theming within the wet pour surface. The play area also needed to be inclusive and include play equipment that children of all abilities can use. The play equipment eibe Play has chosen for this play space included elements designed for reasonable access for all users; however, it also allowed all children to play together without being singled out. This can be seen in particular with the inclusion of the Inclusive Floor Roundabout and the Play Unit Lauren which has an accessible ramp leading up to the main platform, surrounded by play panels. Another critical factor when designing any play space is accessibility for all users. Therefore, we have created all the play equipment accessible via a hard-standing surface. Which also helps the equipment to be used all year round. In February 2022, eibe Play was excited to hear the news that we had been awarded the contract for the refurbishment of Jubilee Park Play Area. The work commenced in April 2022, with a predicted finish date of the May bank holiday weekend. With much hard work, we managed to meet this deadline, where
the play area was opened to many excited children keen to use the great new play equipment the play space had to offer. eibe Play was keen to support the council and the Friends of the Park group to create a grand opening worthy of this great new play space. Therefore, eibe Play donated balloons, ribbons, bunting and goodie bags for the first children to use the play area. Eibe Play is looking forward to a fantastic working relationship with Havant Borough Council to ensure the play space is a success and well-loved by the local community for years to come.

The Borough of Dacorum is a local government district in Hertfordshire, England, that includes the towns of Hemel Hempstead, Berkhamsted, Tring, and Kings Langley. The district, formed in 1974, had a population of 137,799 in 2001.[1] Its name was taken from the old hundred of Dacorum, which covered approximately the same area. It is the westernmost of Hertfordshire’s districts, bordered to the west by the Chiltern and Aylesbury Vale districts of Buckinghamshire. In early 2022 eibe Play was invited to tender for the refurbishment of Canal Fields Play Area, situated in the beautiful town of Berkhamsted. The previous play area had come to the end of its life, and the council wanted to create a play space that the whole town council could be proud of. Berkhamsted has a proud, rich history, so there were plenty of elements that eibe Play could tap into to add theming within our new play space. From the remains of Berkhamsted Castle, located close to the play space, The Grand Union Canal that runs right next to the play area, and the coal deliveries that used to be loaded onto the trains leaving Berkhamsted being transported across the country.
The local area’s history was essential to us when designing the new play space. We need to educate the local children about the town’s history while providing a fun-packed play space.
The play area has been designed for children between 2-12 years old, focusing on how we could also cater to children of all abilities. When creating any play space, you must include a variety of fun play values that promote risk and challenge.
Choosing items from our fantastic Paradiso Robinia range of equipment, we chose a range of play equipment that can offer various play opportunities for children of all ages. Such as our large Isa multi-play unit within a bark pit. This item blends into the surroundings and provides children with three main towers connected by challenging crossings, including a lovely green tunnel slide. This item will make the children feel like they are amongst the tree tops. Surrounding this multi-play units are a Junior Swing Frame and an Inclusive Floor Roundabout. The roundabout allows children of all abilities, including wheelchairs, to play together, and as it has been installed onto an artificial surface, it can be accessed all year round. Opposite the Play Unit Isa, we have included a large sand pit, which will add enormous play value to an already packed play area. The sand pit includes construction chains and buckets, whilst the local children will have great fun finding the dinosaur fossils. Further along from the sand pit, we have included our toddler play unit, which offers a variety of play values such as climbing and sliding, promoting critical development skills for children of a young age. Our Coal Train and tunnel is located next to it, designed to resemble the trains leaving Berkhamsted Station, transporting coal across the country.
Another fantastic point of this play space is that all the play equipment can be accessed via an all-weather path leading throughout the play space. This is an excellent addition as it allows access to all the play equipment all year round.
In the middle of the play space is our Play Mound, with sleeping theming to resemble the remains of Berkhamsted Castle. Kids will have great fun climbing the castle remains to the Stainless Steel Broad Slide, which provides a fun route back down again.
Around the mound, we have refurbished several existing play items, giving them a new lease of life. Our Climbing Tree Ema, Duck Spring Rockers, and Four Seater Seesaw are added. All of which will be a great hit with the children using the park and the local community. eibe Play opened the play area in early August 2022, opening it up to be used and loved by the children eagerly waiting patiently outside. We are very proud of this play space and look forward to working alongside Dacorum Borough Council to ensure this play space remains a hit for years to come.

Chatsworth House in an illustrious list of treasured estates. Working on such a prestigious project was a joy for the eibe team. A detailed creative plan was necessary to fit the specified equipment into the designated space and it took all of design director, David Hibberd’s ingenuity to conceive the perfect playspace. Talks began in earnest throughout 2017, with the £128,000 scheme finally coming to fruition in the spring of 2019.
It was a pleasure working on the project with the owners Simon and Olivia Cunliffe-Lister and Estate Manager, Anna Tindull. Set amid stunning scenery, the new playground features not only the Old Wise Tree, but our Ivo Explorer Island, a Ranjo Toddler’s Play House, as well as a series of Swings, Slides, Spring Rockers and a dynamic Cableway. David says that including a range of products that would cater for toddlers through to teens was a design imperative, “Burton Agnes attracts multigeneration families, so it was essential that we supplied the right mix of products. The end result offers a predominantly robinia wooden playspace that children of all ages will enjoy for many years. It contains fun climbing and exploring equipment, as well as units encouraging motion, movement and motor skills.”

The old children’s play area at Crowmarsh, Oxon was in real need of an upgrade. The existing recreation ground was over 20 years old and in need of removal, modernisation and even replacement. After a community survey in the spring of 2017, overwhelming support was given to develop a brand new playspace. And so the funding began… Two years later, and with generous support from the
likes of SODC, WREN’s FCC Community Action Fund and ACTIVE SPACES (The London Marathon Charitable Trust and Fields Trust), the £191,000 project, Crowmarsh Gifford Play Area, eventually came to fruition in early April 2019. It was councilor David Rowley that contacted eibe Play after seeing our delightful installation at Abbey Meadows. Hoping to retain some identity and history, he asked us to come up with some design ideas, wishing to keep a few existing features present, whilst undertaking a complete overhaul of the site, installing a host of new, engaging equipment.
Throughout 2018, the plan developed and it was decided that Crowmarsh would keep the planted arches and the train, as they were popular with locals, but the specification of new units began in earnest. With the need to entertain children of all ages a design imperative, eibe created a playspace that would encompass all the joy of outdoor play. Two main units, the Extron and the Dom are surrounded by the likes of a 6-metre Climbing Net, a Saturn Whizzer Carousel, a 6-Bay Swing, Unique Double Aerial Cableway, Trampoline and Seesaw. There is also a separate gym area for family members to burn off some calories too! All in all, as witnessed by the happy, smiley faces last weekend, the kids of Crowmarsh will be regally entertained for many years to come.

Surfacing Rubber Bonded
Tested and compliant with EN1177 (certificate available upon request) Rubber Bonded Mulch is:
• Highly Slip Resistant • Fire Retardant • Impact Absorbing • Porous • High Durable • Versatile • Colour Variations (allowing for Theming and to suit the site context)
Rubber Mulch - A unique process that starts with recycling solid rubber that otherwise would go to landfill; consistent control of this process provides us with a carefully blended flat shred, which is then coloured with our unique encapsulation process that not only gives us a natural looking surface, but one that is soft and flexible, long lasting and bonds perfectly. Binder - A specially developed PU binder that is designed to work in cooperation with the shred size, the colouring process, and the requirements of a strong, yet flexible bond. This mixture is then simply spread out with a trowel. As this bonded shred system is self-supporting it requires no digging of foundations and the lack of large or heavy equipment makes it cost effective for even small or difficult access areas. Moreover it will easily work directly onto almost any existing ground conditions including grass or soil, old tiles or wet pour, crushed aggregate or concrete; it will follow the natural sloping contours of the ground and / or absorb undulations and can even be spread directly over tree roots and around plants.

A few small outdoor beds are an excellent option for teaching children about nature. Non-toxic plants can be sown for children to care for on their own. The “green classroom” concept is a proven practice for teaching little ones environmental awareness and letting them interact with plants.
Playground Plants
Children should play in natural surroundings as often as possible. A green environment not only radiates friendliness and cheerfulness but also offers the little ones the opportunity to experience nature. Discover nature with all your senses is the motto. It can happen that leaves and berries end up in children’s hands, and from there, it’s not far to their mouths. It is, therefore, all the more important that only non-toxic plants for children are found on playgrounds. Greenery on the playground has important advantages • Sun protection • Sound insulation • Fencing Non-toxic plants for children: • Trees • Shrubs • Wildflowers • Flowers for planting and sowing Sound insulation The larger the plants, the more leaves. And the denser the leaves, the better the plants protect against noise. This is especially beneficial if the playground area borders a road. The noise of cars is thus effectively sealed off from the play area, making the playground a more relaxing area. Conversely, however, the planting also muffles the noise of children playing, which can be especially helpful in residential areas.
Non-toxic plants for children: Plants that you can use without hesitation Trees: Maple (sycamore, field and Norway maple) Birch Ash Spruce Willow (woven play equipment willow rod) Shrubs: Lilac Burdock Lesser touch-me-not Snowberry Wild rose Wildflowers: Buttercup Daisy
Dandelion Deadnettle Flowers for planting and sowing: Bellis daisies Begonias Chrysanthemums Dahlias Ranunculus Roses Sunflowers Pansies
