Our Aim - Robyn Brookes We are very happy to present your new natural play area for Burbage Common. Our intention has been to create an imaginative playspace that compliments the surrounding environment and adds to the charm and appeal of an already wonderful asset. The area is rich in wildlife and to celebrate that our design centres on nature. Throughout the new playground there is nature themed surfacing layout, educational nature totem, a duck spring rocker, and a general natural theming and colour palate to the equipment. The scheme provides a mixture of quality play experiences to children of all abilities. To us this means offering physical, sensory and social play value with our equipment and overall design. The elements within your new playground allow children to play in many different ways, exploring their own ideas and actions, and interacting with the environment around them. Inclusive play equipment within the play area include the basket swing and stand up seesaw, and wheelchair accessible elements include the nature themed play totem, sound chimes and the wheelchair accessible picnic benches. In addition to this list is a variety of other play equipment that allow children to balance, climb, crawl, jump, rotate, rock, slide, spin, and swing. The main feature unit we have chosen gives the play area the wow factor with its multiplatform layout and irregular roof structures. The unit offers a combination of challenging ascents at different difficulty levels for children to overcome, plus a crawl tunnel, grp slide and feature metal climbing web. In summary, Burbage Common’s new Play Area will offer a variety of exciting, accessible and inclusive play opportunities for the local community to enjoy. The unique design will also attract visitors from further afield to visit. Should you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me.
“We have designed a play space that encourages children to play together, no matter of age, gender or ability”

This is NOT a construction drawing 2. Images shown are for layout purposes only and may differ from actual product supplied. 3. All installation measurments should be taken from the supplied installation instructions 4. Any discrepancy found between information shown and measurments taken from site should be reported to eibe immediatley 5. Full area measurments are to be checked before installation can proceed 6. Check foundation level requirements for each item GENERAL NOTES If not indicated on this plan, north point must be confirmed prior to installation to ensure that slides do not face due south. Exact positions & orientation of new items may be subject to a final site survey and setting out plan. Any inconsistencies on site should be verified with eibe before commencement of work. eibe recommend that existing trees are risk-assessed by the client to ensure the integrity of accessible branches, that overhanging limbs do not conflict with new play equipment or vehicle access and that the canopy will not produce excessive leaf drop which could cause a hazard within the play area. This design layout conforms to the relevant EN Safety Standard. GRASS & GRASS MAT SURFACING Where equipment is installed directly into grass and the free height of fall is between 0.6m and 1.5m it is the responsibility of the playground operator to ensure that the grass sward is maintained in good order. Where equipment is installed with grass mat surfacing it is the responsibility of the playground operator to ensure that the grass is maintained in good order. When laid directly onto existing grass this surface will follow the natural contours of the ground. RUBBER MULCH SURFACING eibe recommend the use of a 50mm stone base when installing rubber mulch. If installed without the finished surface will be a reflection of the ground beneath it, following any undulations, & will not be a completely flat surface. Rubber mulch will not cure any existing drainage problems & will require foundations and/or some kind of drainage system prior to installation.

Dawlish is an English seaside resort town and civil parish in Teignbridge on the south coast of Devon. Dawlish is known for its black swans, introduced from Western Australia, which live with other exotic waterfowl in a small urban sanctuary on Dawlish Water. Several attractions in and around the town include beaches, a mini-golf safari, a waterfowl centre, a theatre, a leisure centre with a pool, a countryside park, and the Dawlish Museum. eibe Play was tasked to create a natural-looking play space that provided the local children with fun and challenging play equipment with an all-accessible surface. All of these, eibe Play specialise in, so we jumped at the chance of submitting our design proposal. The first process was to identify the equipment we would like to include. It was necessary at this point to have the right amount of play equipment that caters for the broadest age group possible. Also, with this in mind, it was essential to include the right amount of play value. Which also offers the children a variety of play features and options to use the play space. This could consist of swinging, bouncing, balancing and jumping. eibe Play chose its impressive Robinia Paradiso range and Unique Softwood pine range for this play space. It would offer the play area a natural look whilst providing the school with the right play equipment. As the children enter the play space, they are greeted by the fantastic Winja Toddler Unit. This toddler climbing piece provides numerous play experiences such as sliding, climbing and jumping whilst offering key learning development opportunities such as role play and social interaction. Around the Toddler Climbing Unit are located various play panels and two of our excellent bespoke Black Swan Spring Rockers. Numerous themed play panels surround these items, including the chance for the children to join the Orange Army or create their very own Black Swan. These items are visited for any play space to improve social and puzzle-solving skills whilst providing an inclusive play item. Next to these fantastic items, we have located our Robinia Dingy. Toddlers will have great fun acting out like pirates or sailors as they sail the seas around Devon. eibe Play chose a wet pour safer surfacing for this area, which allowed them to theme the safer surfacing to add extra meaning and enhance the end user’s experience. This can be seen with the railway tracks and sea-themed colours around the ships. As you move into the play area, the age range of the play equipment moves slightly higher, from toddlers to early Juniors. Wherever possible, we have included play equipment that can represent elements of Dawlish’s rich history. For example, our Inclusive Play Ship resembles the trawlers and fishing boats that have been fishing off the coast of Dawlish for years. The train directly opposite has been included to highlight the historic train station and tracks going along the coast of Dawlish. Moving into the separated junior area, The Multiplay unit chosen for older juniors was the Play Unit Han. This play item is designed for children aged from 7 upwards and provides a challenging and fun play experience for the children using it. The unit has been designed to make the children feel like they are playing high up in the trees, offering them plenty of routes down if they are not quite ready to take on the next crossing. Located in this area also is our ever-popular Snake Swing, which allows numerous users to enjoy its excellent play value at once and our Nest Swing and Junior Swing seat combination. Towards the other side of the junior play space, eibe Play added a selection of their fantastic Robinia trail, which challenges the children to risk-taking skills and improves critical development skills such as eye–hand coordination and balancing. A natural, safer surface, to ensure it kept in with the natural surroundings, was chosen throughout this scheme. Bonded mulch in browns and greens with various natural patterns, this surface is accessible all year round for all types of users. This is equally important for prams and wheelchairs. After the council went through a consultation stage with the local community, eibe Play was privileged to be awarded the play area refurbishment contract. They quickly engaged with the council to refine the play equipment chosen, and after a couple of minor amendments, the manufacturing of the equipment commenced. eibe Play had to deal with a very tricky access route, which was down a steep slope by a hospital and made sure they liaised with the council during the installation and delivery to ensure they avoided any possible issues that might arise during this period. The play area was opened in early February, on a lovely winter’s afternoon, with the local children eagerly anticipating its opening. eibe play will return with Goodie bags for the play area’s grand opening in the spring. The local community continued to use the play equipment until dusk, and the play area has been packed ever since.
eibe play looks forward to supporting the community for years to come and has been overjoyed with the positive feedback it has received.

Parc Bryn Bach is set in 340 acres of idyllic natural surroundings, a haven for wildlife with grass and woodland aplenty. There is a picturesque lake surrounded by myriad of things to do – it is the perfect setting for a range of activities for visitors of all ages and abilities. With plans to improve the facilities at Parc Bryn Bach with a new Adventure Play Area and Bunkhouse accommodation a 2020 imperative, a tender for the work took place at the end of 2019 and community engagement sessions were held to ascertain what youngsters really wanted from a play area. eibe Play was selected as the preferred supplier following its innovative design proposal and product portfolio. Working in close conjunction with Chris Engel at Blaenau Gwent County Borough Council and Phil Sykes and Cath Hares of Parc Bryn’s management company, Aneurin Leisure, eibe’s plan was to make the £180,000 project available to everyone with a cleverly planned scheme with a mix of adventure and all-inclusive products.
The new Adventure Play Area project was aided hugely by Welsh Government funding through the Valleys Regional Park initiative and was finally opened in August 2020, so it can be enjoyed by locals and visitors throughout the summer holidays.
The centrepiece of the playground is eibe’s amazing Unique “Artur” play unit, which features a massive tube slide. Elsewhere there is a Venetos unit, a Double Cableway, Nest Swings, a Wheelchair Roundabout and eibe Spider, all installed onto around 1,000 square metres of Wetpour.
It is a striking play park that will add another new dimension to the fabulous surroundings and make Bryn Bach even busier for years to come.

High Density Polyethylene
HDPE
• UV stabilized for fade resistant outdoor use • Will not rot, delaminate, splinter or crack • Stain and graffiti resistant for easy cleaning
• Durable orange peel textured finish • Moisture and chemical resistant • High impact resistant • 100% recyclable and non toxic • Easily machined and engraved • No heavy metals • No phthalates
High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) sheets are extruded and co-extruded thermoplastic materials that are used worldwide in the manufacture of panels and components for the Playground, Sport, Leisure and Recreation Industries. The versatile properties of this material, including UV stability, make it resistant to fading, moisture, weather, stain and graffiti. The perfect choice for outdoor environments. HDPE is easily routed or engraved using current CNC technology, in the case of 2-colour sheet options, you can remove the outer colour and revealing the colour inside to create almost unlimited design capabilities. Increasingly used across a wide range of industries and applications, HDPE panels are being used to replace timber and composite panel components. Whilst the initial cost of these materials may be lower, the long-termmaintenance requirements and shorter life expectancy make their choice a false economy. HDPE also offered as softer, warmer and more play friendly feel to it. In addition to all the product and user benefits, HDPE is 100% recyclable

Surfacing Rubber Bonded
Tested and compliant with EN1177 (certificate available upon request) Rubber Bonded Mulch is:
• Highly Slip Resistant • Fire Retardant • Impact Absorbing • Porous • High Durable • Versatile • Colour Variations (allowing for Theming and to suit the site context)
Rubber Mulch - A unique process that starts with recycling solid rubber that otherwise would go to landfill; consistent control of this process provides us with a carefully blended flat shred, which is then coloured with our unique encapsulation process that not only gives us a natural looking surface, but one that is soft and flexible, long lasting and bonds perfectly. Binder - A specially developed PU binder that is designed to work in cooperation with the shred size, the colouring process, and the requirements of a strong, yet flexible bond. This mixture is then simply spread out with a trowel. As this bonded shred system is self-supporting it requires no digging of foundations and the lack of large or heavy equipment makes it cost effective for even small or difficult access areas. Moreover it will easily work directly onto almost any existing ground conditions including grass or soil, old tiles or wet pour, crushed aggregate or concrete; it will follow the natural sloping contours of the ground and / or absorb undulations and can even be spread directly over tree roots and around plants.

Surfacing
Wetpour Safer Surface
Tested and compliant with EN1177 (certificate available upon request) EPDM wetpour is: • Highly slip resistant • Fire Retardant • Impact Absorbing • Porous • Highly Durable • Versatile • Colour Use of this safety surfacing through the majority of the newly proposed play area will allow for a significant decrease in the maintenance burden which is likely on the current site. Availability of Spare Parts
Please note that the Guarantee period will commence following completion and contract sign-off. For guarantees to remain in effect for their duration the Customer has a responsibility to adopt a suitable maintenance regime for all aspects of the play environment (please see eibe’s recommended maintenance below). All inspection and maintenance undertaken by the Customer, or by others on the Customer’s behalf must be recorded, detailed and documented. Maintenance records will be requested when a claim against eibe’s guarantees are made. Where inspection and maintenance records cannot be produced then eibe will not be responsible for honouring the guarantees offered. On the basis that recorded inspection and maintenance documentation can be produced then eibe will uphold the guarantees offered. Misuse of any aspects of equipment or the play environment, acts of vandalism/anti-social behaviour, or general wear and tear through frequent use is not covered by the guarantees.

Aftercare and Maintenance Maintenance
Support
eibe supplies all relevant installation and maintenance instructions for each piece of equipment . This references the information provided above and in addition, provides specific requirements for the item of equipment. Combining the installation and maintenance instructions ensures that individual parts can be clearly identified and provides an understanding of how the equipment is assembled which will assist with any maintenance requirements. Where required, eibe supply specialist tools in order to carry out the required equipment maintenance – examples of this include specific drill/screw pieces in order to tighten anti-tamper fixings. Should the Customer wish to receive installation/maintenance instructions for each piece of equipment suggested as part of this tender response, these are readily available.
eibe playground equipment is designed and manufactured with a minimummaintenance requirement. Inevitably with any play equipment, maintenance activities will be required and shall be undertaken to ensure equipment longevity and to maintain compliance with the relevant standards. The following regime is recommended for all eibe play equipment:
Quarterly Checks
We recommend that a thorough check of all play equipment and entire play areas are conducted on a quarterly basis. Checks should include the above and, in addition, should include checks to ensure that all fixings are tight using the correct tools and correcting where not. In addition, undertaking a more thorough check to identify any wear to any moving parts, ropes, or fixings, and where appropriate taking remedial action.
Annual Checks
We recommend that an annual inspection is carried out, which would include the above recommendations. In addition, eibe advises that a qualified Independent Inspector carry out an inspection and produce a report of the play area and equipment to ensure that all elements remain sound, and in line with the appropriate standards. Where potential issues are highlighted then remedial action shall be taken. Please note that the above information is based upon eibe’s experience and recommendation only. Each play area and item of play equipment is different; therefore the Customer should instigate an appropriate maintenance plan, taking into consideration this guidance to ensure that all play areas and play equipment remain available for use. Based on experience, equipment is likely to require more regular maintenance during the first three months following its installation. This is on the basis that the equipment is adapting and acclimatising to its environment, and in addition during this period the amount of usage is likely to peak. Therefore, maintenance teams should plan for this and react accordingly. Whilst all types of equipment, features and elements within a public open space are potentially at risk from damage and wear from excessive use, eibe ensures that through careful design, quality manufacturing and extensive experience in developing public play environments, our product characteristics are: All materials used are of the highest quality, and designed specifically for heavy and potential inappropriate use. All appropriately treated where possible to be fire retardant All include anti-tamper fixings All equipment is modular allowing individual components to be replaced separately All fixings and areas for maintenance are assessable and can be reached without the need to remove sections of equipment Durability
Aftercare
eibe can provide aftercare services; not just parts supply, but inspection and assistance with future maintenance. In addition to the recommendations on maintenance and the supply of documentation needed to conduct and carry this out, eibe will appoint a dedicated Play Consultant in order to assist with any questions, queries, or issues which the Customer may have following contract award and project completion. Your Play Consultant will be your main point of contact for any contract related queries. This will provide you with a single point of contact rather than numerous, ensuring clear and consistent lines of communication for all contract queries, which may include meetings, site visits, phone and email communication. The Play Consultant will be supported by our Project Manager and Project Administration team to ensure continuity of service and after care during the contract delivery stage and beyond.
