eibe Play was awarded a contract with Cheltenham Borough Council for the development of a destination play area in Pittville Park. After a successful tendering process, eibe has worked in partnership with Cheltenham Borough Council to develop the proposed designs.

The new destination play area incorporates an exhilarating, bespoke play fort, complete with four separate towers and two tube slides. A ‘shipwreck’

themed sand play area and a water play area add to the thrill of the play area. With an area specifically for younger children, it ensures that the toddlers are kept safe, whilst pieces of play equipment for the older children are dispersed throughout the park to allow space for free play and socialising. The number of play opportunities offered in Pittville Park is enormous and leads to many hours of fun for children of all ages and abilities. Wherever possible, accessible play units were included to encourage social interaction and inclusive play. eibe has also created bespoke accessible ramps through

the sand and water play areas to enable children of all ages and abilities the opportunity to be immersed in all aspects of the play area. The vision was that the play value offered in Pittville Park is utilised by local families as well as encouraging visitors from further afield to experience the park. The site is enhanced with numerous picnic tables and benches throughout the park to ensure that the visitors’ experiences are comfortable. We have also included within this scheme a self-bonded gravel pathway, leading throughout the play area which allows the play area to be accessed all year round by wheelchairs, mobility scooters and prams.
